Applique Posy Needle Case Swap

I really enjoy the swaps I’ve been participating in!  This time around it was an appliqued needle case, a great swap item because it was relatively simple to complete, cute, and useful.  My needle case was waiting at my parents house when I returned from Washington.

Isn’t it just lovely?  I was particularly impressed by the hand applique.  And what a perfect place to store needles, I don’t know why I didn’t make one of these sooner!  My partner was also so sweet to send me some new needles as well, as any one who sews can never have too many.

I just mailed the needle case I made to my swap partner this week.  She is living in New York, which is interesting because it’s where I just left.  I used some Chelsea Manor fabric from Bunny Hill and I think it turned out adorable.  I was tempted to keep it for myself.  It was so nice to complete a little project after not touching a sewing machine for a month.  I think I was having withdrawals!

If you’d like to see some more of these elegant little needle cases, head over to the Flickr Group to check them out!  Or, if you want to make one yourself, you can download the free pattern from One Piece at a Time {and swoon over her beautiful applique work while you’re at it!}.  Enjoy.

  1. What a cute idea! I was attempting to use my sewing machine last night…..and I’ll just say it was a disaster! Hopefully I’ll get better at it soon and make something as adorable as this!
