Long Forgotten

This weekend, while digging around in one of my fabric drawers, I found Norah’s half-finished Christmas stocking from last year. Oops. With her being born in November, a lot of things I had planned to get done were abandoned.

Since I didn’t want Christmas to come and go without finishing it, I figured there is no time like the present, and I got busy.  The patchwork portion was already finished, so it didn’t take much time to get the rest of it together.  You can see the rest of our stockings here {wow…my photography skills have really come a long way in the last two years!}.  However, Norah’s makes the rest look so dark…maybe new ones are in order, next year, of course.

Do you sew Christmas decorations?  I haven’t made many, but getting this stocking done kind of has me itching to use a bit more Christmas fabric.

This is so cute!! I have not sewn any Christmas decorations but every year I promise myself that I’m going to make a tree skirt… maybe this year will be the year!

Adorable and I love the button detail. I made family Christmas stockings many long years ago and they have a folksy flair to them…unlike what I use now but these are special and I’ll keep them!

My favorite decorations are hand made, but i haven’t made any new ones in quite a while. However, this year we will have a new garland over our kitchen table. My dear husband has been working on it for a few days now and it is almost done. Can’t wait to hang it next week.

    your stocking is very pretty.
our christmas tree is mostly handmake ornaments from myself and my sister in law
our children are now 27 and 25 and they still talk about different ornaments when pulled out
    truly a wonderful tradition

It’s nice to finish up unfinished projects and this is a cute one. I’m using the same fabrics for a Christmas tablecloth.

That is adorable! I used to sew decorations and things for the holidays but right now I’ll be lucky to get the tree up before Christmas! Ha ha! Our stockings are actually handmade, too. I have a sneaking suspicion that Elena doesn’t have one though….

I’ve made a few Christmas items over the years, mainly stockings for each of us and a tree skirt. Someday I want to make a Christmas quilt… but I’ll feel lucky if I can get the baby’s stocking finished in time for Christmas this year!
