Christmas Relaxing

I hope your Christmas Day celebrating was wonderful!! Ours was, very quiet but it was so nice to be able to relax and do just whatever we wanted to. We did miss having all of our children and grandchildren together, though, we are hoping for next year!!

I made a little owl to include with a baby gift and then decided it would also make a cute ornament. I used my new favorite fabric, The Simple Life. I added a 1/4″ seam allowance to the pattern to make this owl just a little larger.

We spent Christmas Day working on this puzzle. It is so much fun and also very addicting. Every time I walk by, I have to try to place at least one piece. We have decided we need to get another one for our New Years’ relaxing.

I have done very little sewing this past week, a few ornaments, added corners to some snowball blocks for one of the quilts that I am working on. I am sure the sewing will be picking back up very soon!!

I just had to show a picture of my favorite gift from my sweet hubby, I was told Norah picked this out and really wanted it. Maybe for a little gift Grandma will buy her one. It is not an ornament, it is a key chain but I thought it looked adorable on the tree. Oops, still in my robe!! I best get moving!!

Have a great holiday, Christmas comes but once a year!!

We went to our daughters home and watched the grandkids open gifts. It was fun. Glad you had a nice Christmas.

What a cute keychain! A puzzle is a great idea. My daughter got one for Christmas, and I’m going to ask her to break it out!

My father was a “puzzler” and we would get him a new one every Christmas (and when we didn’t he would pout). It became a family tradition to work on them over the holidays. He has been gone 11 years now, and my sister and I still buy a new puzzle to work every year that we are together (she is in Florida and I am in New York). It is a fun activity for the whole family and anyone who should happen to drop by.

We had a puzzle on our table Christmas day and my extended family stayed longer than normal working on it and chatting away. It was such a big hit that I think we will do it again next year. Your sewing is wonderful, as always, and the key chain is adorable. Such a special gift!
