A young woman I know, recently gave birth to a babyboy. She namned him Valentin and that´s so cute, I think. Today I realized that the 14th february is also her birthday, which makes it all even more cuter <3

A few years ago, I was in the car with my 9-year-old son, listening to a commercial for ordering Valentine’s Day flowers on the internet. He announced “You don’t need to order flowers on the internet – you can just buy them at the grocery store. And you don’t need to buy chocolate covered strawberries – you can just put a Hershey’s Bar in the microwave.” Ladies, he’s going to be quite a catch one day…
Love the colors on the fabric bundle – it’s a touch of spring, after a long, dreary winter.
Okay. I don’t have a funny Valentine story but I have a funny story.. my 7 year old takes Karate and one of her instructors was expecting a baby boy. The arrival of her little one was announced on Facebook and I told my daughter. I said that Miss Stephanie had a baby boy but I couldn’t remember his name (it is an odd name). I did say that I remembered it started with an “L”. My daughter very innocently asks “Is his name ‘Lactose Intolerance’?” That comment still makes me laugh. Happy Valentine’s Day!

When I was in high school and smitten over an older boy, we were going to attend the Valentine’s Day dance together and he told me he had a gift for me that night. You can imagine all the things a high school girl could IMAGINE that she would be getting. Well, it happened to be a large orange – yes the fruit. It probably wasn’t funny at the time, but now it is!! Happy Valentine’s Day Jennie and family and Clara and family!

Quite the opposite from funny I’m afraid but today my 8 year old got her first valentines card and she was too embarrassed to show me. I was just jealous because I didn’t get one today! I’m blogging my cloud 9 washi drss tomorrow so you can see what became of that fabric
We were making cookies and my daughter indignantly said…”Mom, you know what some people say for this (holding up the vanilla bottle). They say VA-nilla instead of BA-nilla.” She was quite shocked when I told her the other people were correct.
One Valentine’s Day money was tight since we were expecting our 1st child, so my husband and I decided that rather than do something fancy we’d have to put on the credit card, we’d make a game out of seeing how much we could do spending as little as possible. Our “Cheap Valentine’s Day” celebration was one of our favorites… we still talk about it!
I don’t have any funny stories but I do like the fabrics. AND I enjoyed reading the stories posted above.

My 2 and 1/2 year old started calling me “sweetie” recently, he yells it when he needs me or can’t find me, “hey sweetie” he yells. Whenever I hear it, it melts my heart.
A funny Valentine’s day is when my now husband was my fiance and he gave my the traditional dozen red roses but also a huge gift, that was wrapped around another gift, wrapped within another gift, all total there were 5 wrappings I had to tear off. Imagine my surprise when in the center was a bracelet that I lusted after when I was 16 years old. I had even window shopped with my Mom to show her this amazing bracelet but it had been sold. Happily that was to my very attentive fiancee. Now happily, 39 years of marriage later he’s still attentive.
The funny part is my Mom was asking the sales lady at the jewelry store discreetly when and who bought it and the sales lady described my guy to a tee, so my knew and never said a word!
I can’t think of any funny stories at moment. Thanks for the great giveaway!

What a beautiful bundle you have created! My husband actually proposed on valentine’s day ten years ago. We will celebrate our ten anniversary in September! Time really does fly by!
This is something that happens EVERY year and always makes me chuckle – I’m not a fancy gal so splurging on an expensive restaurant for a V-Day dinner is a bit of a waste for my taste, so every year The Hubs and I get dolled up and head out to…In-N-Out for burgers and shakes! The best part is the looks he gets from the workers who must believe he is in the MAJOR dog house for taking his wife to their establishment on Valentine’s Day, but they couldn’t be more wrong! I love our tradition and can’t wait to do it this year!
Oh dear….I don’t know what my funniest Valentine’s Day is…we don’t often celebrate out or anything, due to the expense and no sitter. =) This year we made oragami hearts and added a stick of pink and white candy to share with our friends. It was a nice homeschool project.
Thanks for a chance to win this bundle. I loved it the moment I laid eyes on it, but had to refrain from buying. =)
Happy Valentine’s Day!
I don’t have any Valentine’s day stories, but I do have a funny story about something sweet. I was traveling back from Europe and whenever I’m there I stock up on Haribo gummy bears…they are just not the same if they are made in the US. Turns out my luggage was 10lbs over weight and to avoid the charge I had to remove items. So I had to slowly remove bags of gummy bears while EVERYONE watched until I was 10lbs under. Peoples faces had that “she has a problem” look when they looked at the pile of bags I had amassed at my feet and the airline clerk just laughed. It obviously didn’t bother me because I bought another 4 bags at the airport shop because clearly over 10lbs of gummy bears wasn’t enough.
Years ago, I managed a Victoria’s Secret store. The first Valentine’s Day I worked there, I was horrified. The line to the cash register was very long, it wrapped around the inside of the store. Men just grabbed anything, really didn’t care about size, they just wanted “something” with a VS label, to give on Valentine’s Day. I threatened my husband that if he ever did anything like that I’d shoot him.

I just asked my kids (7, 6, 5, 3, 2 and 5 mo) what is Valentine’s Day…these are some of their responses….love, helping others, cards, getting candy…hmmm sounds good to me =) The 2 yr old was home with daddy last night as Daddy was writing my card and putting some candy with it, Daddy said he sure was eyeing my treat…so he hid it in our bathroom to keep it safe! And last night when I got home, the 2 yr old was trying to tell me what they did last night and daddy kept saying shhhhh. It was pretty cute and funny.
Oh, and I love the fabric…it is so pretty, my girl would love to sew something up with it and her new pink sewing machine.
Hi! Not really funny, but adorable, the little Valentines we received from our little kindergarteners! So Sweet ! Love your Giveaway Fabrics
My husband was scheduled to leave for Iraq days after our first Valentine’s day. The next month, we were talking about getting pregnant when he returned in nine months. Not knowing that I was already pregnant.
Gorgeous bundle, thanks for the chance, would be thrilled to win!
Funny Valentines….well, being a part of a family that owns a florist, I think the funniest moments for us come during the wee hours the nights before as we are prepping all those beautiful orders! Some of the card messages can be quite entertaining….especially when sleep deprived!

Oh how I wish I had a funny valentines day story. The only think that I can remember is a high school boyfriend asking me why I didn’t tell him it was Valentine’s day. Needless to say that did not last.
Oh yeah and I also think most of the things I get from my students for Valentine’s day are funny. Especially ones like half eaten boxes of chocolate
I don’t have any kind of valentine story
How about a bad habit that I want to change. I just ate five cookies, or was it six? and THEN read the side of the box where it said 2 per serving! Not five or six, two! Ugh1 I better get my butt out for a walk after work tonight – no excuses!
My best Valentine Day was my first with my husband. He sent me 14 Valentines!! The men I worked with couldn’t believe it. He’s been a ‘roses’ man ever since. It’s always a loving day in my house, just like every day. Lucky me.
Many years ago, my husband gave me a beautiful card for Valentines Day. The front was beautiful and I couldn’t wait to see what was written on the inside of the card. It said, “Happy Valentines Day to my wonderful Husband”. It turns out that my husband never read the inside, he just liked the cover and didn’t realize this was a card for a wife to give. We still laugh at that card.
enjyed reading the replies, but i’ve no funny tales myself. love the fq bundle just right for spring! thanx for the chance to win it.

It turns out Hubby just wanted to go out to eat, had completely forgotten it was Valentine’s Day. The look on his face when he realized is what sets me off laughing now. He really thought he was in trouble.

What a hard question! I taught third grade for 5 years, and my kids always loved Valentines Day, you’d think I would have a good story. Hows this: They always made such cute Valentines boxes. One year one of my boys made his look like a toilet. It was pretty hilarious watching all the little girls’ reactions.

My favorite valentines story was when I was younger and my mother surprised me and all of my girlfriends with an evening out to the movies. She picked us all up from school and spent the afternoon doing all the things that young teens like to do just because she loved all of us so much and didn’t want our close knit group to be separated,. It was so sweet and a great moment that I will never forget.
How about a funny Easter story? Mine and my husband’s first Easter, he wanted to give me a Easter penguin because I collect penguins, so I opened the car door and found a decapitated bunny! It seems he sewed bunny ears onto a penguin to make me an Easter penguin, but I kind of freaked out when I saw that headless bunny! LOL 17 years later and I still have that penguin! LOL

We don’t really celebrate Valentines day! and I can’t think of any funny stories but thanks for a great giveaway!
It’s more cute than funny really but my 6-yo son came home from school with a valentines card for me and his dad. We opened the card and it was a drawing of a bridge. He said, it’s the George Washington bridge for Presidents’ Day! Can’t beat a 2-in-1 card.
Cannot think of a funny story about Valentines day. But I did laugh out loud, a happy laugh, when hubs asked if I wanted to go out for Valentines day for dinner. I do not think he has ever asked that question. He does not do going out on busy, special days.
My story isn’t about Valentine’s Day, it’s not even a “story” really – but it IS funny
I have 4-year-old twin daughters who attend the same preschool class 2 days a week. There are 3 “Sophias” in their class and they’ve come up with a great way of specifying which one they’re talking about when they tell me about school happenings. The 3 Sophias are: “The Sophia that threw up”, “The Sophia that cried in the corner”, and “The Sophia that never threw up or cried in the corner”. It cracks me up every time!!!
Happy valentines day! I work at a childcare centre so all the kids looked very cute in red. I didn’t get any valentines but a almost two year old boy did give me a kiss on the bottom. It was very funny.
Funniest thing was being sat in the local supermarket cafe watching all the men choosing flowers for their loved ones last night, the process was fascinating, and very entertaining!

Since the kids were small we’ve had an all red meal, jello, beets, red pears… whatever comes to mind… But the one thing I’ve been told can’t change ‘by my now adult’ kids is the heart shaped meatloaf with lots of ketchup… The silly things that mean so much..
Happy Valentines Day…. make it special not commercial.
The funnies Valentines day for me was in high school. I should say now it is funny, then it was horrible. I had a small hole in the back of my jeans near the pocket. I got flowers delivered by my boyfriend and when I got up to get them my pocket got hooked on my seat and the whole back side of my pants ripped out and I half mooned everyone.
We have a tradition of celebrating a week early because A was competing for a scholarship Valentine’s day weekend… he proposed the week before, AND got the full ride
Now, we have F born on that special day!

The funnest Valentines day I have ever had was when

This year we going to celebrate Valentine day is some fun place. We went to a local pub this year after the dinner. It turns out we are like the oldest couple in that room. All of them are youngsters.
When my two boys were in school and in kindergarten, they came home so embarrassed. We asked them why they were embarrassed and they said the girls all gave them a kiss on the cheek when they gave them their valentine’s card. We still laugh at that when Valentine’s Day comes around every year.
Lovely fabric. Can’t think of any thing funny today thanks
Happy Valentine’s Day!! My 3 year old niece says to those she likes, “I Valentine you!”. She was so excited for her preschool party today. I miss my kids being that age!
Thanks for the giveaway. I LOVE that line!
Being old marrieds ,37 years, we don’t do valentines day anymore because everyday is valentines day for usBUT when we first started going together my then ‘very new” boyfriend was talked int buying something from a jewellery party they were having at his work. He decided a lovely green stone ring would be a lovely surprise for me & bought it. I thought it was beautiful, as any new girlfriend would, so I next wore it at a family function. My grandmother had a fit as for her green was a superstitious colour meaning bad luck. She told me to take it off but also where did I get it. I hadn’t informed my family we were going out yet so said ,”Oh my new boyfriend Hugh”, there was a pause & grandmother said “Oh that’s o.k. he has such a lovely name” you can wear it. It so happens that my grandmother’s only husband, who she lost in WW11 was called Hugh & from thereon my Hugh could do no wrong, even if he did buy me a green ring!!!!!
Great giveaway. My sister was getting married and we were shopping for her dress my 4 year old son was with us. She had been trying dresses on all morning and he had been pretty patient. Finally he told her that what she had on was the prettiest. She was wearing the slip.
Love the Honey Honey! Best Valentine’s ever was when I was a new, young mom. I hadn’t gotten anything and my husband was working that night so I was home with the baby and another on the way. At 8 pm my doorbell rang and it was a bouquet of baby roses from my hubby. The Florist was so busy, they were still making deliveries. Never forgot it!

Happy Valentine’s Day! I have two very memorable Valentine’s Days. The year was 1983 and a beautiful flower arrangement was delievered to me at work. There was no card attached so I had no idea who sent it. My co-workers were so excited they made me call the florist to see who sent them. They wouldn’t tell me at first but then informed me that they were from another of my co-workers. Fast forward to Valentine’s Day 1985 and the same co-worker and I are at a very nice restuarant when he puts a little box in front of me. I opened it and saw a beautiful diamond ring. He was soooo nervous that he couldn’t say anything so I had to ask him if it was what I thought it was. He could only shake his head yes. We have been married for 27 years now, have two wonderful grown boys, and I still tease him that he never really asked me to marry him.
Love these fabrics! Would love to make a baby girl quilt for my BFF’s first granddaughter !!
I don’t have a funny story about Valentine’s Day. But this year was the sweetest. My DH,
who usually gives me a card, candy and/or a bouquet gave me an armarillis (sorry about the spelling), it is in bloom with another flower stalk already growing. He knows how I love living plants and now that we have retired to Mexico, he gave me something that will just keep on reminding me year round of his love.
No funny story. I am a sewing newbie. I started sewing about a month ago. I have been learning TONS with all of the tutorials. I am trying to building my fabric stash and sewing things and this give away would help so much. I am absolutely addicted to sewing and am finding out that I might be addicted to the fabric store!!!! I don’t have any funny stories, or any super-special ones. This will be our 36th Valentine’s Day together, so we’ve had some good, some bad…and even some pretty ugly ones! At our stage in life, we appreciate each other in little ways throughout the year, so the “V” day itself has become just another day. I’d much rather get a bunch of fresh-picked daisies in the Spring, or go for a leaf-crunching walk in the Autumn, than get a card or box of chocolates on one day.
Valentines Day used to be a romantic day but now that we have a housefull of kids it is a day full of love. I usually make a special dinner at home. One year I made Chicken Chow Mein and put those baby corn in it that come in a can. We looked over to see our 5 year old son eating it like you would eat a regular size corn on the cob. Happy Valentine’s to you!!
I don´t celebrate Valentine`s day so no funny story but my surprise today was my husband cooked.
Hmmm… nothing too funny has happened to me for Valentines… always something sweet like chocolates, flowers, or a dinner date!!
I have a sweet Valentine’s story. When my daughter was just a baby – only five months old – my brother bought me a heart shaped box of chocolates & her a pink/white gingham checked box of chocolates. How sweet for a brother to do that. While she couldn’t eat her chocolates, she still has that gingham heart shaped box & she’s 31-years-old. Thanks for a lovely giveaway. Love this fabric.
OOOO! pretty bundle. I love orange and pink together. I don’t have any funny Valentine stories but I will tell you one about my kids when they were little. My #2 son was reading a book silently to himself. My daughter is four years younger put her ear up to his head. I asked her what she was doing. She said she was trying to hear what my son was reading. It was so cute and funny!

I usually dont really celebrate valentines day. We usually do get chocolates and stuff when it goes on sale afterwards though.
today was really fun. i decided to be crafty this valentine and stick heart sticky notes around the house with all the reasons i love my husband (which i had to wake up at 1:30am to do because i fell asleep before my husband), i made my own card for him which contained funny lines from all the comedy movies we love. He loved it & loved doing it. super fun!
So this isn’t a funny story, but it is my most memorable Valentine’s story. I had just been dumped (on Christmas day no less, over the phone) by the guy I thought I was going to marry. Days afterwards, I met this other guy. He was interested in me immediately, even though I told him I had just had a bad breakup and needed time. So he pursues me fierce for 6 weeks and every time he asks me out, I tell him no. Well, on Valentines day, I come home from class (I was in college) and there is the most enormous bouquet of 3 or 4 dozen roses on the counter. It didn’t even cross my mind that it could be for me, so I commented to my mom that my dad must’ve spent a lot of money on her flowers this year. She said, “They aren’t for me, they are for you!” I literally couldnt think who they would be from, until I read the card. They were from HIM, my pursuer! I called him immediately to thank him, and the first thing he said to me was, “Are you mad?” I said, how could I be mad about flowers like that? The second thing he said was, “NOW will you go out with me?” We ended up dating for quite awhile after that and although I ended up marrying someone else, we are still friends to this day.
My kids do Valentines day, of course but not my hubby and I. We do love each other though! Our first Valentines day when we were married we spent at the hospital. I was being induced with our first and he was born on the 15th. So not lovely but good just the same. We now have 5 children and love them all.

Well this morning was pretty funny. DH asked me what I wanted for Valentines day this year. I said no flowers, they just die.. Just get me chocolate. He said do you like Macadamia nuts? I said don’t get that fancy stuff, just like plain old chocolate, not dark chocolate. I’d rather you just got lots of cheap chocolate, you know how I love chocolate. Well, he took me literally… I came down this morning to two HUGE bags of chocolate!! HUGE I say!!
Beautiful springy fabrics :*) I have a cold and theses stories are killing me! My Valentines day stories are not that funny though. Best one was a lean year,, a poppyseed muffin, coffer to go, and adonated little jar of caviar for my birthday the first year my husband and I met.

My most memorable Valentine’s gift was in the 4th grade when a boy gave me a gold heart shaped locket. I didn’t want to accept it, because I didn’t feel the same about him (I was only 10after all! not ready to settle down yet!) He insisted that I keep it, and today it is still in my jewelry box… 31 years later. It’s a nice reminder of how special Freddy thought I was all those years ago.
My girls were 3 & 1 and its coming up on Valentine’sDay and I was trying to figure out something to give to ‘Daddy’. We had recently moved into a new home and I was also painting the dining room walls & ceilings. My 1 yr old some how got her clothes off, I’m sure older sister didn’t have anything to do with it, and came running through the house stark naked. Well, she found me in the dining room and somehow ended up with her rear end in my paint tray. Once she realized she was wet she promptly sat down on the, thankfully, covered floors. Well, the imprint of her cheeks made the perfect top, curved portion of a heart so I came up with a great idea.
With canvas, red & pink paint, and 2 bare bottoms, I painted their little rear ends and sat them on the canvas. I finished painting the ‘V’ with matching paint and wrote “NOTHING BUTT LOVE…”
The perfect Valentine’sDay gift for Daddy!
The silliest story I have about Valentine’s Day is about a gift I received from my then boyfriend, now husband. A windbreaker. Yes, a brown and blue windbreaker. SO ROMANTIC! I remember being annoyed about it, and like a jerk, laying on a guilt trip on him about how it wasn’t very thoughtful. Many, many years later, (including today!) the flowers and chocolates and sentimental, yet temporary gifts on Valentine’s Day have come and gone, but I still wear that windbreaker. Maybe he knew better than I did how to take care of me and keep me warm <3.
My husband is not much of a romantic in the standard sort of way… but he said this morning, ” Happy Valentines Day, my love. If you want me to, I’ll go pick you a couple flowers from the back garden”. He still is my sweetie… he’s made me laugh for almost 38 years now!
Tonight was a pretty fun Valentines-take out Chinese food, too much chocolate, flowers and cards.
My daughter moved to Pittsburgh in the fall and since I couldn’t see her for Valentines day I packed up a box of love for her. It arrived yesterday and she posted pictures of all the goodies unopened and then after she opened everything up on instagram. Knowing she liked it and reading her comment really made my day.
My best Valentine’s Day were all the days when I was a grade-school child. Laboring the week prior to the “big day” building the prettiest Valentine box I could, and then selecting those Valentines for all the girls and boys (especially the boys). I just loved Valentine’s day. It was so exciting, almost as good as Christmas

I had a funny/strange Valentine’s Day in college. I received gifts from 2 guys – an azalea shrub in a pot (great in a dorm room), and a box of candy that was actually destined for another girl, (who had already left for the weekend). It was interesting, to say the least! Thanks for the chance at the fabric!
I don’t have a funny story, but my husband proposed on valentines day, so it’s a special day! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
One year for Valentine’s Day my husband bought me a washer and dryer. That was a funny gift, albeit a much needed gift. Thanks for the giveaway.
Hi, my twin daughters were born on Valentines Day 20 years ago. We set off on our 1 1/2 hour trip to hospital after my waters broke. About 1/2 into the trip I went into labour but was too frightened to tell my husband because he was already driving like a maniac. After they were born I asked my husband if he liked his Valentines present and he said “What was it?” I said “You got two of them”. All he said was “Oh!” Vicki
Last year for Valentine’s Day, knocked on my door at 9:30 pm, was a handsome boy, Ashton Kutcher looks like, yes! but teenage friend of my daughter. He brought a box of heart shaped chocolates and a rose. Can be more romantic? But my daughter ran inside because she was ashamed and at the end I took her gift because he did not know what to do, so I went and closed the door. I found it funny at the same time I wanted to hug and kiss him was so romantic.
xoxo
Yesterday after work I sat in the bus absently watching the screen where Valentine love messages ran through. One read: “My goldfish, I love you”. Now goldfish is what my boyfriend always calls me and I was absolutely touched because I would have never thought him being so romantic. When he came home last night I hugged and kissed him widely thanking him for this surprise and his love message… in the end.. it wasn’t him. There must be some other Goldfish out there….
Everyday I laugh about something that my DH says – that’s why I married him all those years ago, he mad me laugh then and is still making me laugh now more than three decades later! Hope everyone had a great Valentines day and laughed!

Ages ago when I was in high school, they sold carnations as a fundraiser on Valentine’s Day (white = friend; pink = I like you; red = I love You). I had only been dating this guy for two weeks, so I was happy to get a pink carnation from him, but as we were standing there together, they delivered a red carnation to me from someone that I used to date. Well, I guess that lit a fire under current beau because we have now been married for 27.5 years (and I always have pink carnations in the floral arrangements he gives me!).
my favorite valentines days were when my daughters were young and the cute cards they would so proudly make with love for Mommy and Daddy. Yesterday was fun and pretty special for us, now a retired couple. We spent the day laying bricks! to finish a 3 seasons room and I was so tired I almost couldn’t go out to supper at our local pub to enjoy Vday!
Rob lived in British Columbia and I lived in Nova Scotia, long distance love affair. After we met (December 25, 1980) but before we were married (June 5, 1981) Rob had flowers delivered to my place of work. A tiny little bouquet in a purple flowered tea cup. I still have the cup.
Oh, and he never remembered sending them!
Not my funniest valentine, but one someone told me yesterday – she’s a teacher, and when she asked one of her students if he’d be her valentine, he responded, “I’m a Christmas man!” The way she told the story made me laugh out loud!
gorgeous bundle, what a generous giveaway. So, my story revolves around the fact we don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. I had bought my husband a card as I suspected he’d get me one. I spent all week telling everyone we don’t bother with Valentine’s, it’s for new couples etc etc. I got home last night to a big pile of Valentine’s presents… oops! It would seem that we DO celebrate Valentine’s, or at least my other half does!

My funny story was not all that funny at the time but a few years ago we decided to go to the city for the day and on our way how we hit a storm with roads covered with ice and the traffic could not move , they detoured the traffic to a side road as the main highway was impassable however it took us hours to go just a few miles and what normally would be less than a two hour drive turned out to be six and our valentine supper consisted of dry bread that we broke off of a loaf we had bought and a bottle of water , how is that for a romantic valentine day lol! Thanks for the chance at your great giveaway .

Last week when I was shopping at Walmart for a card for my husband for Vaentine’s Day – he just happened to be on his lunch hour, just happened to wander into the same Walmart, just happened to spot me bent own over a card on the lower shelf, and just happened to sneak up behind me and say into my ear, “I like that one!” – needless to say, I was just a little surprised! But, that card was not the one I choose =) It will be a funny memory every year when I shop for a card for him.
I had a Valentines’ Day baby back in 1982. Joseph was 31 this valentines day. I also know 2 other men who are Valentins’ Day babies.
Funny story: gave my daughter a scooter for vday and was showing her that she could use either foot to work it. She switched feet and told me that the one she was using was all “worn down”.
My grandaughter the other day told me she was going to ask her dentist where her ballon flew away to. She was positive he would know because she ( my grandaughter) is only a little bit smart, but her dentist is very smart and probably knows everything.
I can’t think of a funny Valentine’s story, but valentine’s day just gone was pretty fun
I had my cousin staying for a few days, so spent half of the day with her, before seeing her off on her coach back home (although that part not so fun, more sad with tears…). Then in the evening I watched Avatar (first time I’ve seen it) with my husband. We don’t spend a lot of time together, so that was fun
When I was newly married (100 yrs. ago), I thought my new husband had forgotten Valentine’s day.. I was dusty the living room when I noticed a piece of paper over the very top of the lampshade. It was a huge valentine heart cut from a newspaper. The light shone through and it warmed my heart. He hadn’t forgotten. Stayed with me always.
Thanks for the great giveaway …
I remember celebrating Valentine’s Day with a fancy dinner in Gibraltar with a voucher for a free meal that we won off the local radio. The waiter gave me an orchid wrist corsage to wear during the meal. My husband and I were still practically newlyweds so we giggled like school kids all the way through the meal as it was just so strange and quite funny!! Fab giveaway!!
Love all the stories! My wedding anniversary is February 25 and my daughter’s birthday on feb 24th so we usually don’t do much on Valentine’s day.
This Valentines day I decided to make my husband his own entire batch of German Chocolate Cupcakes, his favorite! Because he leaves for work before me, I told him his gift was in the cold room waiting for him in the morning. On Valentines Day, I called him at work and asked how he enjoyed his present, and he told me he couldn’t find it! There was just a whole bunch of cupcakes, so many that he figured that they were for my daughter’s class and didn’t take them!
I had to get my origonal wedding rings cut off. They said they would be unable to keep from damaging it, so I told my hubby that it would not come off not matter how tight it got until I had a new ring to put in it’s place. I came home from work to find a “Wallpaper picture” on my computer of a stuffed animal holding a ring box with a wedding ring set. I thought it was just a picture off the net that my hubby had put on there for me for Valentines Day. Finally my kids and grandchildren who were here to see me get my new rings could not stand it any longer. They asked me to go put on a pot of coffee so I had to go into the kitchen to find the surprise on the kitchen table. Everyone thought it was funny that I didn’t even notice my own kitchen in the photo.
Unless you think it’s funny that my idea of a great Valentine’s Day with my husband is renting a movie and eating frozen pizza at home, I’m fresh out of funny V-Day stories. I do have a funny story about getting brunch with friends and their dog, though. After enjoying some coffee and pastries at a local shop, we decided to all take the pup to the park. We were pulling out of the parking lot as our friends climbed into a car and let the dog in the backseat. Only, the key didn’t work. I was looking at the car wondering why they had taken off their bumper sticker. Suddenly they realized that none of the things in the car were theirs! Someone else in the lot had the same exact car and had left it unlocked!. They scrambled out of the stranger’s car and got their dog out of the backseat and hurried a few spaces down to their own. I still wonder if the owner of the other vehicle found dog hair in the backseat and wondered where it came from

This funny story happened a LONG time ago. When I was in first grade, two little boys had a contest between them for Valentine’s Day. I did not know about it. The contest was that whoever brought me a ring first would get to be my boyfriend. Well, Johnnie brought me a ring the very next day. When I took it home and showed my mom, she just gasped! After she recovered herself, she asked me where I had gotten the ring. I told her that Johnnie had given it to me. Well, long story short, after calling Johnnie’s mother she found out that Johnnie’s mother was indeed missing a ring! So sad…it was a very pretty ring!
No funny Valentine’s Day story, but my granddaughter was born the day after Valentine’s Day. We all tried very hard to get her to come out on Valentine’s Day (my daughter was sick and tired of being pregnant) but this little baby was having no part of it, and finally appeared about 10:30 am on the 15th. We would have called her Valentina, but she became Sydney instead.
My husband and I went out for a romantic dinner a few years ago. Once we sat down at our table, we reaized that his ex-wife was our waitress!
Before we were married, my husband thought it would be funny to give me a gag gift. I had hoped for a coach handbag, but instead I open the elaborately wrapped box to find a bag of potting soil because I had been complaining about needing to repot a plant. Needless to say, it was a disappointment…so much so that I cried in front of my family. I felt like quite a brat when he pulled out a second present he had hidden away that was the coach bag I wanted.
How about the time my friend said “do you want to go see Airforce One” and I though we were going to go see the President’s Plane land. I was so disappointed to find out it was just a movie.
Well, I sent my husband of 30 yrs ago a Valentine card that said ” I don’t care about who was your first girlfriend, or any other girlfriend; as long as I am your last girlfriend!”
He took it to heart!
Thanks for a chance to win these lovelies! A few years ago I bought a boardgame for two. My husband had bought me a gift and it looked quite similar. The shape was the same as my gift and even the wrapping paper was the same too! He gave me the same thing as I gave him
not really funny but last Valentine’s day (our first married Valentine’s) we celebrated at the hospital with a dinner for nicu families! It was definitely a sweet memory, as the next day,we found out our baby girl was coming home!

The funniest was when I went on a blind date and I ended up knowing the person whom I didn’t like!
my husband and i met online at the beginning of january, 2005, but went on our first date on jan 29th. this meant that when valentine’s day came around, we had just really met each other. i didn’t want to have him feel like he HAD to do something romantic… i wanted him to do it because he liked me. so i told him that we really shouldn’t do much for valentine’s day. of course, i wanted him to, i was just being a silly female and being obtuse. unfortunately, he took me at my word, and had to cancel the flower delivery that was already out for delivery… so some delivery guy’s wife got some lovely tulips that year. we were married the next year on february 18th, so valentine’s day always takes a backseat to our anniversary now, and we’ll never celebrate it again!
I got a gallon of Texas BlueBell ice cream for Valentines Day because you can eat ice cream and not flowers!!! My favorite and so fun to see my husband so happy to bring it home.
I don’t have a funny Valentines story but last weekend my 6 year old son had a little friend round for a play date. She saw my treadmill outside on the deck and happily informed me that her mum also has a treadmill and she’s not getting skinny either!
