a season by handToday we’re welcoming Trish from Notes of Sincerity.  Trish shares beautiful quilts on her blog, and has several patterns published at the Moda Bake Shop.  She also does a lot of sweet crochet, which is one of the next hobbies I need to pick up!  Today she’s sharing how she travels with her crochet {yarn is great for traveling, whether it’s knitting or crochet!}.

Crochet on the go pretty much sums up how you will find me in an orthodontist office, at the airport, waiting for the commuter van, you name it.  Crochet is my go to when I am going to be someplace, sitting, for any length of time.  It is so relaxing and gives me something to do when I am forced to be still.  (boorriinngg … wink)

Last month, while traveling to Michigan, it was nice having the crochet cowl to work on while waiting for connecting flights.  It fit snugly into my camera bag – and tsa never even gave my crochet hooks a second glance.

Woody snapped this picture while at a recent appointment.  I have started a new cowl that I plan to give as a Christmas gift to a dear friend who loves pink.

Thank you so much Clara and Jennie for having me over.

Your summer series has been so much fun!  xo

  1. I love to take my crochet out with me. I made a blanket last year, one square a day to represent the weather, I remember taking it in the car with me on Christmas day as we drove the two hours to my parent-in-law’s house and joining the horizontal rows together 🙂 Kept me warm too!

  2. I love crocheting! Before having our newborn, I took it everywhere, too… someday, when she’s a little older, I’ll be able to start taking a crochet project along again 🙂

  3. Learning to crochet is on my ‘to do’ list this year. My main problem is that I am left handed and all of my friends are right handed, I just can’t seem to pick it up when they show me. I have seen so much lovely crochet on blogs though and am in love with the prettiness of it.

  4. Cute cowl and a great take-along project. My grandmother was an expert at crochet and made many, many lacey linens. Lucky you that the tsa wasn’t interested.

  5. I really love to crochet! My last few projects were amigurumi gifts………but my favorite things to crochet are doilies made with crochet thread.

  6. One day I will learn….it is something you can take everywhere to do. YOur scarf is so so lovely. Hope you are having a wonderful Summer so far. xox

  7. crochet is my go-to travel craft. I can do it in the car as I don’t have to look so much at what I’m doing and I find it’s easily portable.
