Big Bow Fold Over Elastic Headbands {tutorial}

I posted a picture on Facebook and Instagram of the 20+ yards of Fold Over Elastic that I purchased {I bought mine here and they’re currently having a sale!}, and a few people asked what I was going to do with all of it.  In all honesty, I didn’t realize how much elastic 20 yards would be.  So, now I’m working on making some projects from it.  First up, headbands.  I made these with a tiny bit of sewing and no glue.  I added an extra 14″ of elastic for a smaller bow, and about 21″ for the large one on Norah’s picture above.  Here’s how I made them:

I even made one without the bow and am using it on my new planner to keep it all together!

I am working on some more ideas too, as I think this will be a great resource to have on hand.  Have you ever worked with fold over elastic, any great ideas for me?

  3. These are so sweet. I love your models! Norah and Lydia bother get prettier and prettier with each passing day! XOXO

  4. I love those headbands. I wish Addi were better about keeping things on her head. I would have one in every color! Was Norah always good about that or did that come with age…or hair. BTW she looks amazingly grown up. Must be the changes you have all had…and that she is now a big sister!
