Sewing {Dreaming About Sewing}

I have been getting a couple of my quilt tops together so that I can send them off to be quilted!! I am really excited as they are two of my favorites and they have just been sitting. I came across them while doing some organizing in my sewing room recently, it’s time!

The granny square top still needs outside borders, first white and then I am thinking about a scrappy strip border of some type. I will take a picture when I get it finished.  Also, still choosing backing fabric, I am pretty sure they will be pieced from my stash, so I won’t have to buy any more fabric, did I really say that??

Next is my Spin Cycle top, quilt pattern by Allison at Cluck Cluck Sew, that I commissioned my friend Trish to make for me quite a while ago. I am so glad that I did because I love it, she did a great job!!

This is what I think the main backing fabric will be.  A little piecing will be needed but not too much.

I have not been getting much sewing accomplished here as we have been remodeling a bathroom. Eeeek, that is not fun at all. Except to choose out the new tile and fixtures. But the work and time it takes I could surely pass on. Thankfully, my husband has been doing most of the work, alone!

But while in the middle of that project I have made a couple of sample blocks for a quilt I am planning on making soon. Not the pink for sure, (it’s going to be for my son), but just having a little fun first. I love the pink and blue and the pink and grey together.

Onto the book by Lindsay Wilkes, it was a Christmas present from my husband. I am really looking forward to opening it up and sewing up some little girl clothes. I have three adorable little girls to sew for now. A 3-year-old, 2-year-old and of course baby Lydia. How much fun is that??

The sun is shining here today but it is still cold. It looks like a great day to sew, we shall see! Hope you are enjoying your day and maybe getting in a little sewing  too!!

    Those will be so pretty when they’re all done. I know I’ll have fun when I have a little more time to sew. This fall my oldest starts Kindergarten and the younger one is going to start preschool 3 mornings a week. Maybe then I’ll get some sewing in.

    All is lovely, I am anxious to see the quilts finished. I know Brandon will love whatever you make him. I look forward to seeing the sweet dresses you make. I know the girls will cherish them. I do hope the bathroom remodel finishes up quickly and without any unplanned auxillery projects. Love to all of you. XOOX

    You’ll have to make you all matching dresses for Mother’s day! Of course yours should be a grown up version – LOL
    I love your quilts and the colors you have chosen and love the idea of a scrappy border for the granny square!

    Yeah, I have just been dreaming about sewing lately. *sigh*

    The quilt tops look beautiful! My baby’s granny square quilt is second on my to-do list (an apron is first). Good for you squeezing some sewing time in with home improvements going on! Can’t wait to see more finished projects and HOORAY for sewing for little girls! 😉
