I love knitting, in fact, there was a time where I knit a lot more than I sewed. But, with all the constant sewing projects, moving, and kids, it just slipped away to the back burner. But, I recently signed up for a swap and ended up knitting a hat, it was so fun!
I used a lace pattern from a scarf I’d knit before (and had made into a hat before), and found it much more difficult to get the feel of than it was the first time! But, once I had knit about half the hat, it seemed to all come back, and I found I missed knitting. It is a great thing to do in the evening when watching TV.
I tried to get a close up of the pattern and the yarn, but it is a little more difficult than fabric. Even so, I think it is interesting to see the stitches.
Now, my next venture is going to be knitting socks. I received these books for my birthday and am itching to get started. I just need to choose some yarn and get some tiny needles.
I think I’m going to start with this pair. I like how knitting a pattern allows for easier stitch counting, and I worry a little about making the socks the same size!
Have you knit socks before? Any tips? Or knit at all? I’m really excited to get started.
