Quilt Market {Spring 2014} – Part 2

I’m still not finished unpacking, but I wanted to share the rest of my pictures of quilt market.  I know I keep saying that I’m shocked I was even there, I think it is because, while my mom and I dreamed and poured into our business over the last five years, I didn’t really believe we’d actually make much of it. There have been lots of moments filled with doubt, discouragement, and continuing on wondering if we’re going to keep moving forward. But, here we are, enjoying this time. So, if you’re working on starting a craft or pattern business, know that it will take time and work, but keep pressing on, you never know where those dreams and plans will take you. I was so thrilled that the people I talked to were so kind, and a few people had even heard of Clover & Violet!

And, this trip could not have been possible if my parents hadn’t come to take care of Silas and Norah while I was there.  Here’s a cute picture I snapped of them {right before the DVD player’s battery died…and the one thing I forgot at home?! The charger…}.  They were so cooperative for having spent over 24 hours in the car in one weekend!

I know I say this often, but really, YOU made this possible by reading, buying patterns, and being encouraging!  Looking forward to what lies ahead!  Have a wonderful day!

  1. we have the same tastes, you took photos of all my favourite booths! Not that I was there… but luckily bloggers like you have shared! So pleased for you that the business is a success, good luck with the future.

  2. So fun to see you go this year. Way to go on the success and hard work. I know it’s easy to read your blog and think you just woke up one morning and had a business and went to quilt market, but I am aware that you’ve put years of creative energy and diligence into this. That is what makes me so happy to see where you are now!

Keep those patterns and all the inspiration coming. I’ve got a lot more sewing to catch up on to get through all the patterns I have in my to-do list, but I’ve been having fun sharing my finished bags with friends and family and recommending your patterns because I think they are very clearly written and easy for newbies to pick-up on:)

  3. I didn’t get a chance to respond on your other quilt market post. This place looked amazing! Some of these quilts make me want to cry they are so beautiful! I can only imagine what it must have been like to be there! Amazing! What sweet kids, too, to be so good for you. I’m so glad you were able to go!

  4. Dear Jennie,
Have loved both postings of pictures from the quilt show!! They are awesome and through your wonderful blog and patterns i have been gaining confidence with my sewing. I am actually taking on a Jen Kingwell quilt so to see her booth is terrific! Going to a quilt show is on my list of wishes to do one day, a few Australians had booths there including Jen Kingwell, and they have raved about the experience as well. It is just getting that family / sewing time balance right ! Working on it with bits of cut thread hanging from my clothing.
    Best wishes always,
    Robyn

  5. Thank You for sharing all the beautiful pics of Quilt Market. I’m so glad you could be there too! Priceless picture of your two little ones with heads together!!

  6. Thanks for the sneek peek at quilt market. It’s nice to see fabrics and line in real life, or next to other things to get a sense of scale. Must have been a bit overwhelming with all the pretty things 🙂
