My Bee Blocks WIP’s

There has not been much sewing going on at my house lately. But I have been slowly working on getting caught up on some quilting bee blocks. I belong to two groups so they are keeping me plenty busy. I hope you don’t mind if I share my progress?

This is the basket block that Missy Shay, {she blogs at Missys Cakes and Aprons}, asked us to make for her in our Sew Sweet Bee. It is really cute but now that I see mine with a little bit of a different perspective, I see that my handle is crooked. I will have to take that apart and fix it. I guess it’s good to see things from a distance sometimes! Oh, and by the way I am not late on this one!!

Anneliese, who blogs at {mail from the cheeky monkeys} is in the Modern Stitching Bee group. She asked for this block.                                        Lots and lots of hst’s.

I made sure to lay it out carefully so I did not make too many mistakes.

MSB-#1

I am happy to report I only had to rip out a couple of rows a couple of times!! It is really a cute block and a lot fun to use lots of scraps, but not what I usually make. I know it is good to get a lot of practice. I sure do need it!! I have one more to go and then I can call it!! This one is very late, I am sorry and will try to do better.

This is my Sew Sweet Bee block for Kerri from Lovely Little Handmaids, it is a little late. I had fun making more hst’s, they are a little larger and a little easier to work with. I believe this is called a dutch pinwheel.

And another block finished and just needing to be put in the mail!! I really love this block!!

These sewing bee block groups are super fun and challenging too. I have more blocks that I have received but I will wait for another day to show them. I am getting really excited about another quilt top!!

I hope you are having a wonderful summer. I am really enjoying a lot more leisure time this year.

Clara, all the blocks are sew sweet (sorry about the pun, I couldn’t help myself). I know these are going to be treasured. Love you! XOXOXO
