Sharing My Pencil Case Swap From Instagram!

Now that I have been on instagram for a while I have joined a few swaps. They are so much!!

I thought I would share my first swap that is due (well yesterday)!! I am going to get it in the mail today, I just wanted to get some pictures first. And, I just finished it yesterday. Our goal was to make a pencil-case using the three favorite flavors our partners gave. Then to make a pencil-case using any pattern or design you chose ( I made it up as I went along).

I really enjoy making hexagons, but I seem to only make them when I have a project in mind. I saw this pencil-case as the perfect opportunity to do that. This is the bottom, most of the hexagons are on the bottom.

I also have found a love for DS fabric in various blue prints. I did add a couple of other colors, a little purple, green, grey and some text prints. I thought they looked good together.

I also, love binding!! When I originally started making this my plan was to add a zipper. But as I continued to work on it I decided it would be fun to add binding and our signature covered button. Jennie is the one who got me started on the covered buttons.  I just love them. We also love adding binding to our bags here is the link to our shop. Feels so  quilty to us!! I am really happy with the way it turned out so I hope my #icecreampencilcaseswap partner is too!! I have a few more surprises that I am going to add to her package but they are surprises!

I hope you have a great weekend.  We were in Arkansas for two weeks and had a great time but it is even better to be home.

If you haven’t entered the giveaway from It’s Sew Emma for the Fat Quarter Style book, you still have time!!

And last but not least I would like to thank our contributors for their wonderful posts and the mini medallion quilt along by Chrissy. (Who by the way is in the Sewvivor race.) We are really rooting for her!! She is so talented and super sweet too!!

Bye for now!!

  1. This is such a sweet design- I love the little button finishing it off! I see some fabric there that I bought at my local (Australian) Spotlight store! I wonder whether it is from your Joann’s? (one of my followers was asking about it!)
