Doll Carriers :: Curious Dream Blog Hop (& Giveaway)

| |

Today is my stop on the Curious Dream blog hop, and I’m so excited to show you what I made with Angela Pingel’s whimsical debut fabric, Curious Dream, an Alice in Wonderland inspired collection in modern, fresh colors. I have two adventurous girls that I knew would love this fabric as well, so, for an early Christmas present, I made them each a new doll carrier.

I used the Baby Doll Carrier pattern by 3BeansStudio, with a few modifications. I had used this pattern before, so I knew I wanted to lengthen the top strap a little bit, lower the arm straps, and add a chest clip. But, with those few things done, I am so happy with how the carrier turned out. I used ByAnnie Soft and Stable for the strap and belt interfacing, and the foam added a great thickness. I just used regular batting for the main pack.

One thing I love about this pattern is that it doesn’t use any webbing, so I was able to make it out of supplies I had on hand. I thought it would be cute for matching packs, but in different colors.

In addition to the Curious Dream fabric, I used a gray print from Atlas by Another Point of View for Windham, and loved the way it looked with the bright colors. I think these two are ready for their adventures in Wonderland (or just on the local golf course, where we took these photos!).

Both girls could not wait for me to finish these packs, and wore them with their dolls for hours once they got their hands on them!

I had the hardest time choosing which part of the cheater print to use for the pocket, it was so cute all over, but in the end I decided that Alice and the Rabbit needed to be front and center!
