Garden Steps :: Block Four

Questions? Missed a post? Find the index here.

Finally, block four is done! I know that we’re now a week behind too…I will be updating the schedule, but I do plan to get back on track too, it just may take a couple blocks, we’ll see!

Something you may not know about me is that I love dragonflies.Β  I have really as long as I can remember, going back to being a child and seeing the real things outside while playing.Β  As I grew up, they were still something I love {I have a surprising amount of dragonfly paraphernalia…}.Β  You probably also know that I love purple {obvious? probably!}, so, when I saw Good Fortune, it was like Kate Spain had designed fabric with me in mind…

So, of course, the quilt needed a dragonfly too.Β  Download the pattern here. {Note, I’ve had people tell me they’re having trouble with downloads…this doesn’t seem to be an issue for everyone, but if you have a problem, just send an e-mail and I’ll e-mail you the pattern!}.

While the pattern looks simple, do not underestimate {like I did} the amount of time the satin stitching will take…Β  I also used split stitch around the wings and back stitch for the veins.Β  I may go back and add a few little dragonflies too…

Enjoy!

  1. OH, this is so pretty, and I like the addition of the dragonfly. Oh, when I still lived in Oregon, we had dragonflies in the most beautiful shade of blue. You would have loved them πŸ™‚ Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  2. Oh, no! I just finished up the flower and the dragonfly, but the linky part is closed! I must get better at doing these on time. Looking forward to the next one.
