Blend Fabrics & Bags

|

We had the pleasure of working with Blend Fabrics again for Fall Quilt Market. My mom and I have made three bags {in the last two weeks!} that are going to be displayed in their booth {really, I am still a little unsure this is happening…pinch me!}. So, here are the bags we made:

First, my mom made this lovely Libby bag out of Bella by Amanda Murphy.  The print scale worked really well with the size of pieces in the pattern, and the colors are soft and sherbet-y, and the fabric just feels lovely!

The Libby bag is one of my favorite bags, I use mine for those first few months of my babies’ lives where I carry everything-but-the-kitchen-sink in my bag.  It is roomy enough for my stuff, baby stuff, and maybe some toys too, but still looks stylish!

My mom also made the Madeline bag out of Animal Parade by Ana Davis. The Madeline bag is our version of a mini diaper bag. I actually use the original one for my kids to this day, I pack it with a couple diapers, change of clothes, and a few toys, then I leave it in my car so that we always have stuff on hand, but I don’t have to carry it on my shoulder! My mom has one too, she uses hers as a travel bag as it is the perfect size for magazines, a bit of sewing, water bottle, and snacks!

We thought it looked perfect in Animal Parade, with cute, girly colors, sweet butterflies, and paisleys.

And I made this Claire bag out of Global Bazaar by Josephine Kimberling {shipping January 2013…no PDF available yet view the collection here!}, I love the vibrant prints contrast with the deep navy, and the elephants, I keep going on and on to my mom about the elephants {you can see one there on the pink and white damask}!

I have also used the original Claire bag, until I realized it was getting faded, it’s one of my very favorites {okay, I’m beginning to think choosing a favorite bag is like choosing a favorite child…}!  I like how the outside pockets keep things organized and in reach {there are three on the back too}, but then the inside is open, besides a cell phone and hidden zipper pocket.

So, if you’re going to quilt market, take a peek at the Anna Griffin/Blend Fabrics booth {and maybe snap a picture for us!}, we wish we were going too, but it is fun to know a little bit of our work will be on display.
