Quilting Retreat Sewing

|

Curvy-Top-Pencil-PouchAs I mentioned in an earlier post, I’m heading out on a quilting retreat later this month! Hooray! Since we live far from family and my husband’s job gives him time off on their schedule, but he cannot miss work on the days there is work, I don’t really get the opportunity to go places I cannot drive and bring my kids {maybe you remember, I even brought them to Pittsburgh for Quilt Market!}! So, when some friends of mine announced they were organizing a retreat near-ish where my parents live, I jumped at the chance to go! So, now I’ve been sewing goodies for my secret sister and other swaps that are taking place on the retreat {I love swapping!}.

PincushionMy secret sister loves aqua/turquoise just like I do {I hope she isn’t reading this!}, so I’ve been making her some goodies using my favorite fabrics. I really love that mushroom print {obviously!} from Tasha Noel’s Little Red Riding Hood line, and I’ve been using it on everything scrappy lately!

Mini-Charms-2One of the swaps at the retreat is of mini charms {2 1/2″ squares}. So, I made up a few little bundles of them. It’s fun to fussy cut and also use some favorite fabrics that I didn’t have a lot of left {I see a lot of mini charms in my future – check back Monday for more details!}. And then I just added a little cardstock square to the back and tied with bakers twine! Too fun!

Mini-CharmsThese are the charms my swap partner will be getting! I hope she loves pink, red and aqua too!

ButtonsI’m also bringing these little pins to trade. I love seeing my new logo in print. I’ll make sure to share a photo of all the pins I bring back too.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this little behind the scenes look! Most of these photos are straight from Instagram, I’m still working on how best to share everything everywhere! I’ve updated the site capability, so that when someone replies to a comment, the original commenters will get an e-mail with the reply. Perhaps this will help us build interaction and community. Thanks so much for taking a moment to read, I’ll try to post a little bit more before I head out in a few weeks!
