Dream Big Pencil Pouch {Tiny Toffee Blog Hop}

|

Dream-Big-Binder-Pencil-PouchI love sewing with scraps. Seriously. I have yards and yards of fabric, but scraps are my favorite. I love that I can use just a little bit of my favorite fabrics, enjoy them, and still have lots left over.

bh2adrMy sweet friend Susi designs tiny paper pieced patterns that fit inside 1″ hexagons, and I’m excited to be part of the blog hop showcasing her newest set, Dream Big. The tiny paper pieced designs in all the Tiny Toffee Designs pattern collections are perfect for even the tiniest scraps, and they are surprisingly easy to paper piece. And, while they are sized for hexagons, many of the other blog hop participants have made larger pieces or even enlarged the design, which shows the versatility of these patterns.

Dream-Big-Binder-Pencil-Pouch-3Since my to highlight was the pencil, a pencil pouch seemed the obvious choice {Rebecca had the same idea, go see how cute hers is here!}, so I decided to make a new one for my planner, using the Binder Pencil Pouch tutorial I shared a while back.

Dream-Big-Binder-Pencil-Pouch-4I made just one pink pencil, and then added a couple pink hexagons too. I glue basted my hexagons to the fabric before I stitched around the outside edges.

Dream-Big-Binder-Pencil-Pouch-2Stop by the Tiny Toffee Designs blog to see the rest of the schedule here, and visit the shop here to see this pattern and the other cute collections Susi has already released.

I hope you enjoyed this stop on the blog hop. Not only is Susi a talented designer, she’s also a dear friend. I am always excited to be part of the quilting and sewing community and am amazed how people can connect across oceans {Susi lives in Germany}, and yet share a passion for something that my nearby friends don’t really understand. What did we do without the internet?! 😉

  1. Very sweet! I am still intimidated by miniature piecing, though. And you are absolutely correct about Susi (talented!!) and the Internet. I have much more in common with my “virtual” friends than I do with family and friends I see everyday.

  2. Adorable, I have seen so many cute designs from them I went and bought some, too funny, they are so tiny, my husband will think I am crazy, Lorraine
