This is my version of our new Penelope purse pattern! I used the beautiful Yarn Dyed Essex Linen in Black, that we purchased from The Intrepid Thread for the bottom, handles and binding. The Essex Linen was so wonderful to work with, it is very soft and was easy to stitch down for the binding. I was a little bit hesitant at first, but very pleased after sewing with it. I think it added a nice touch to this purse.
The fabric for the outside was simply four jelly roll strips of Parisville by Tula Pink, that I had in my stash and I love them for this purse.
It has a neat zipper on the top. I was also a little leery about sewing a zipper, but once I started actually sewing it into place was very pleased with the way it turned out. This purse is really very easy to make and can be very versatile depending on the fabric you choose, dressy or casual.
I am loving the size of it, too!
This is my version of our newest pattern, the Penelope purse, I hope you like it!!
