Fun Sewing

|

I thought I would show a few pictures of what I have been doing since returning home from baby Lydia being born and she is adorable!!! We had a wonderful time spending it with Jennie and her sweet family just waiting for baby to be born. Sadly, the two little ones were pretty sick when we arrived but were much better by the time we headed home!! It was perfect timing to lend a helping hand.

A little peek at Lydia’s baby quilt in process! It has sashing and two borders on it now. I have already pieced the backing and just need to cut batting and do the basting and then quilt it!!{ I hope to finish it up soon so that I can start on the next project on my want list.} It turned out to be a rather large quilt, I guess it will be a good size quilt for snuggling under for quite a long time!! I am happy with that.

Next up is this little set of nesting baskets for Lydia’s baby things. I used Jennie’s Bedside Trio tutorial over at the Sew Lux blog for the baskets and I am going to make one more little thing, but it will be a surprise for Jennie.

I just love the little rolled roses and decided to add a few to each basket for a special little extra. I love the way they look. The inside of the baskets are patchwork also, you could use solid pieces of fabric for a quicker project if you want. I think they would be equally cute!

And this is the way they look nesting! Soon they will be filled with such cute little baby things!!

The sun is shining brightly here today, I am going to enjoy it as much as possible. I have a lot more fun sewing to do so I will be back with more soon.

Thank you for the sweet congratulations on baby Lydia’s birth, she is adorable and we can’t wait to get back there to do more cuddling. I love this time of the year as my husband is home a little more during the holiday’s and that means more visiting with sweet little ones.

Have a great day!

p.s. Wouldn’t these little baskets make great Christmas gifts too?!!

  2. I LOVE the fabric baskets to coordinate! The rosettes are perfect on those! The quilt is coming along nicely, too. I bought fabric for my baby’s quilt, but got the wrong solid so I need to go back and get more. It is a start, though!

  3. Grandma Clara you are wonderful! I love the quilt and nesting bowls. They fit with Jennie’s personality and the things made for Silas and Norah quite perfectly! She is lucky to have such a sweet mama!
