Quilt Pattern Release: Twinkle Lights #twinklelightsquilt

I’m so excited to introduce you to my newest quilt pattern: Twinkle Lights! I have always loved star quilts, and as I was decorating last year for Christmas I thought a star quilt with a chain element would be so pretty, and the name Twinkle Lights was just stuck in my mind. I fiddled with the idea a bit, but nothing struck me as the right quilt. Homeschooling was busy and I volunteered a lot at our local church, so it just got away from me. But, when I got the opportunity to try Electric Quilt 8 last month, this quilt was the one I sat down to work out, you can read more about my process here, and this is the finished pattern:

This is a Fat Eighth friendly pattern, since I had a FE bundle of Vintage Holiday by Bonnie & Camille for Moda, I carefully sized the blocks to be cut from fat eighths. And, since the blocks are large, the quilt is generously sized and comes together quickly.

Here are my two test blocks, I’m working on cutting up my Vintage Holiday this weekend, and I’m hoping maybe you’re interested in a quilt along too? I have one scheduled to start in two weeks, here’s the tentative schedule.

Nov. 18: Choose Fabrics
Nov. 25: Choose Fabrics/Begin Cutting
Dec. 2: Finish Cutting
Dec. 9: Sew 12 Large Stars
Dec. 16: Sew 13 Small Stars
Dec. 30: Assemble Quilt Top
Jan 6: Assemble Quilt Top & Finishing
Jan 6-20:  Finishing & Link Up

I know this is over the holidays, but I find myself indoors a lot getting some sewing done now that the weather is cooler (especially now that we live in Virginia!). I am still working on the details for prizes and such, so I’ll be back with more info on that soon!

Here’s a close up of the small star block, I really just love how this turned out! I played with a variety of ways of sewing this one up, but I’m so happy with how this one turned out.

And here’s the large star, this one is my favorite, simple but so pretty. As always, you can find the pattern in my shop, and hop over to Instagram today to see some of the test blocks as well. If you make this quilt I’d love for you to share it with me via e-mail or social media with the tag #twinklelightsquilt and #cloverandvioletpatterns and make sure to tag me @cloverandviolet
