I finished this little quilt and I wanted to show you a couple of the steps, I usually completely finish a project and then wish I had taken a few pictures along the way. I know I like to see how others do things. I really like the way a simple quilt looks like with the quilting sewn corner to corner, so that is what I chose for this baby doll quilt!
Using my walking foot is not only great for the quilting but for sewing on the binding as well. This time I left the batting untrimmed until after the quilting was complete. I liked the way it turned out. (Usually I trim it before I sew on the binding).
Here is the quilt with the little diaper bag made especially for sweet Norah. She is such a sweetie and I hope she has a lot of fun playing with these and her babies. Her and Silas were here all last week and we had so much fun. Trains, duplos, books and lots of coloring. It was fairly nice weather so we were able to play outside and even do a little swimming in the kiddy pool. All folded up and ready to travel to its new home for baby Stella! I can’t wait to see photos of her with them in her nursery gliders & rockers. Did I mention that I am so thrilled that they live so much closer and can see them in just a short drive? Well, I love it!!
Now onto making some fun things for Silas, I loved all the great ideas you all gave me!! Thank you!
Have a great weekend and Happy Labor Day to you!
