I am very excited to be joining the Sweet Orchard Blog Hop, showcasing the darling new fabric line by Sedef of Down Grapevine Lane for Riley Blake Designs. This is the first thing I’ve had the chance to sew since moving to our new home in New Mexico, it was the perfect motivation to get things all ready to go here, and the fabric really is too sweet.
Since this is my first project after almost two months of not sewing (and moving), this sweet cheater print (made to look like patchwork, but really just one piece of fabric) was perfect for me. I’ve been wanting to learn to knit socks for a couple years now, and at our new home one of my neighbors is an avid knitter and has started a knitting night, so I will finally be learning, and, of course, needed a bag to put my sock knitting supplies in:
I could not resist adding a little hand quilting to this bag either, instead of regular top stitching. I thought it added a little something special to my simple bag.
I really enjoyed working with this sweet fabric, what a great way to get back to sewing after such a long break. There are many cute projects in the blog hop, you won’t want to miss any of them. You can also follow the blog tour on Instagram and Facebook each day with the tags #sweetorchardblogtour and #sweetorchard
Welcome to New Mexico! If you’re ever in the Las Cruces area you really must check out Bernina’s Sewing and Design on Lohman Street! Such beautiful fabrics and such a cute knitting bag!
