Katie Book Sleeve for the Home Grown Blog Hop (& GIVEAWAY!)

I always love getting to play with a variety of fabrics, and Home Grown by Nancy Halvorsen for Benartex was a delight! I really love the large, whimsical flowers featured in the main prints, so I looked for a project that would showcase them nicely!

For my project I made a couple Katie Book Sleeves. Since I had a fat quarter bundle, these fat quarter friendly projects were perfect. I loved the main flower print, especially on the light gray background! It made the perfect body for the sleeve, and the turquoise accent was ideal!

I loved the variety of blender prints in Nancy’s line, so I had to make use of them by adding a contrast band to my book sleeves. I am always on the lookout for a great blender!

Since we have a long drive just to get anywhere from our home, my kids are always bringing books with them for the ride. I love to give them a book sleeve to keep the books in so they don’t get dented and damaged while they’re floating around backpacks and the car! I think I need to make another set of these because both my girls wanted to claim them!

GIVEAWAY: Benartex is giving away a fat quarter bundle of 8 prints to one lucky commenter (US only, sorry international friends!). To enter, leave a comment here telling me what you’d make with these fun, springy prints! Entries taken through Sunday, March 3, 11:59pm. One winner will be drawn at random Monday morning! Best of luck!

I loved getting to sew with Nancy’s fabric! There have been some delightful projects in the blog hop so far, so if you have a minute, hop over to the other blogs to see some of them!
