Hello! I did not expect to be absent from the blog for so many months, but I think that life has been very unexpected for everyone, so I’m just glad to be back here and sharing something new! Over the last couple months, we moved! We knew this move was coming, our last assignment was only a year, but this has been a challenging time to move, to say the least!

We are now settled (sort of!) in our new home in the Pittsburg area. We’re still waiting on getting new carpet installed, so we haven’t set up the whole house, but since my parents came to visit we did set up our guest room and I’m excited to show it to you today!

I’d been planning to work with Photowall when we moved to our new home, and when we saw that our guest room had vaulted ceilings I knew that it would be the perfect place to hang a large canvas! I chose this Flower Bouquet print and had it printed as 31.5” x 43.31” so that it would take up a good amount of space on the large, bare wall.

The canvas comes rolled up and needs to be stretched on the frame, so I was a little nervous how that would turn out (so if you order one, don’t forget the frame!). I had my husband ready to help, but it turned out to be so easy I did it myself in just a few minutes. I saved a few clips to my Instagram highlights, you can see them here! I did need help hanging the canvas because it was large, but it was convenient that it came with the hanging hardware as well.

I chose a canvas specifically to coordinate with the medallion quilt I finished back in May. This quilt started as a center and made its way around the country with each member of my quilt bee adding a round until it came back to me as a whole, I think it is my favorite quilt to date! I love the vibrant variety of colors in the quilt, it has so many of my favorite prints and low volume fabrics and it was such a fun adventure to see each round be added and the quilt grow.

I’m planning to share each room with all its quilty touches as we settle into our new house! I always love seeing how people use their quilts and other handmades in their homes, so I hope you will too. Here I also used my Love Pillow to give the bed a cozy touch. The Love Pattern is by Kristy of Quiet Play and I made mine double the size.

So, which room are you hoping to see next? Maybe the sewing room (it’s almost done, but there has been a lot of fabric to put away!)? I’ll still be blogging sewing projects and Aurifil Artisan things as well, I’m just a little excited to make our house a home, especially after living in a rental where every wall was painted yellow! Now, back to fabric folding!

  1. Oh Wow Jennie! This is stunning! Your room is so welcoming and warm. It looks like a magazine layout. I am so glad for you and your new home! I cannot wait to see the sewing room and all you do with the rest of your house! Quilt is amazing…. bet Mom loves being a guest in this room.

  2. Such a pretty room! Congrats on the new home. If you’re in the Pittsburg, CA area, then we are neighbors! I live in nearby Oakley. If it’s a different Pittsburg, I’m sure it’s just as lovely! Thank you for such pretty patterns!
