The #SewPINK Initiative 2022 with ByAnnie

Our friends at ByAnnie.com have invited us to take part in the #SewPINK Initiative raising awareness for Breast Cancer and screenings during the month of October. Since I have many dear friends who are Breast Cancer survivors, raising awareness and encouraging screenings is close to my heart – as it probably is to yours too! So, if you’re reading this and have been hesitant to seek care or a screening, I hope this post encourages you to prioritize your health!

Please don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom to read more on the #SewPINK Initiative 2022 and to learn where you can receive screenings, and see all the participants in the blog hop, you don’t want to miss them!

The Olivia Jewelry Case and Bias Binding Tutorial

I’m excited to share my new pattern, the Olivia Jewelry Organizer for the blog hop! If you are knew here, you might not know that I love pink, so when I was choosing fabric for this project I chose a pretty pink gingham fabric for the bias tape, don’t miss the bias tape video a little further down this blog post too!

I don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but I have a few special pieces that I like to bring with me when I travel or when I’m away from home and I know that small things can have big memories and be a comfort even in difficult times.

Don’t miss the Bias Tape Tutorial

Even though I think bias binding is a fun project, I find a lot of sewists still cringe at the thought and avoid it! That’s why I’m excited to share the Olivia Jewelry Case and Bias Tape tutorial that I made just for you. So, I’ve filmed this simple bias tape tutorial to help you make bias tape quickly and easily, and consider using it for your next project!

Although you may be new to Bias Tape , I hope this helps you conquer a technique that might be new to you! I just love that feeling of accomplishment when I make something new and learn a new skill!

Quilted outside of the Olivia Jewelry Case and Bias Binding Tutorial

I used Soft and Stable for the outside and I loved how the puffy quilting turned out, it was gave such a fun look to the case, making the little fussy cut fabrics pop out!

Inside the Olivia Jewelry Case

Additionally, I also added Soft and Stable to the ring cushion, I loved how it made the perfect place to keep my rings safe and in view!

I couldn’t resist some clear vinyl too, so I could see which pieces I had with me. A gathered pocket allows for chunkier jewelry, like a watch, without denting the vinyl.

If the Olivia Jewelry Case is a project you’d like to try, I hope you’ll join me in the Clover & Violet Sewing Club when it opens on Friday or join the waitlist to get early access. You can read all about the sewing club here, I’d love to get to know you!

And a big thank you to ByAnnie.com for including me in the blog hop! I hope this encourages you to prioritize your health, and make sure to head back to the ByAnnie.com #SewPINK Initiative home page for information on how you can be involved!

  1. What a beautiful jewelry storage travel case. I love it. I would have to make it in Purple since that is my favorite color.
